Yeah mang,

Check out Mid Ohio in July, there are millions of great bikes there. The prices have been going up on the nice ones quite a bit, so you better get crackin!

there is a little bit of everything .... Kawasaki's always kicked ass back in the day.

I've got a pretty nice looking '73 I bought this summer for $1500 CAD. Thing is fun but it needs a top end rebuild I think. It smokes from the oil breather tube . Thing is it only does that after running the piss out of it. Sometimes it really smokes and sometimes its just a whisp. Smoke also comes out in whisps from where the pipes attach to the head. It has an electric ignition added on and an oil cooler. It starts up easy. It also leaks a bit of oil from near the head gasket which I found out is a faulty o-ring. It didn't do that stuff when I first bought it, but I guess I didn't run it hard enough because I was too excited..Big mistake! Regardless I'm going to sell it and my original '78 XL250 (good times) in order to get a KLR650. I think that's the bike for me at this point.

I'd love to have Carpy build me one. CB750s can be some of the best looking bikes ever IMO. I haven't had a chance to ride one yet, but I have a feeling I would love it.

Well around my neck of the woods a grand doesnt buy much in a pre 75 cb750 k or f...I restored several a few years ago and I could buy a non running original paintset bike for around 800-1000 and after all restoration work was complete including a stash i had of original exhaust pipes I was selling for around 3500.00 It was alot of fun for a while but got to be too much once word got around about my stuff and also my original parts cache dwindled so i got out...Now I am doing only Kawi 500 h1's and 750 h2's when I can find them....

I had one years ago and if I was in the market for a "vintage" if that's what you call them, 4cyl Japanese bike I would not get another CB750 for these reasons:

1. Not enough clearance between to frame rails to remove head (and head cover) without pulling the engine.
2. Did not have plain bearing crank - the needle bearings on this engine were known to only last about 80K miles.
3. The 70's Honda transmissions hit false neutrals almost as often as it would going into gear.
4. The CB750 engine had two plastic rollers for cam chain tensioner instead of the normal "shoe". Mis a shift, over rev it and it can eat these plastic rollers. I found this out the hard way, then found out you had to pull the engine to fix it.
5. Honda's love for putting Phillips head screws all over the engine that are very difficult to get to to remove as the head usually strip before you can get them out.

And like all 70's and some early 80's bikes, if you get one, plan on replacing the steering head bearings to taper roller bearings and the swing arm bushings. If the bike still has the stock ones, they will likely be worn and cause evil handling.

I love Hondas, but not this one.

Sawarow ...Thank you for reminding me why I don't like working on motorcycles, or sprint karts anymore. That and the half dozen special tools you'll likely buy, only after finding out you really need them because you can't bend, or force your way into any of the spots you need them to go. Having to take a torch to stripped screws, and bolts to get them out, and rebore the threads. Yep, don't miss working on either of them.

I bought this one 3 years ago. Has 193 miles on it. I have no idea why I bought it because I can't really ride it and mess up the mileage now can I? !

Tweed, my buddy's dad has a CB900F just like that one. It was stupid fast. A lot faster than I expected an old 900 to be.

Yep, you're kinda stuck with that being so cherry. Might as well put it in your living room. I almost bought an old Mike Hailwood that had almost no miles. But it was art at point; riding it would have killed it's value.
