Just gave my tele the Blind Faith treatment...

Well, there was that thread about which is better, tele or strat... And in it was the Blind Faith video, which I hadn't seen in a long time. And what was in that? Why, Clapton's tele/strat cross... So I figured I'd give it a try. I took the body from my AV62RI tele custom, and the neck from my 80s Clapton strat (fitting, no? ), and voila!

I kinda dig it!

You can't - a tele neck doesn't fit a strat neck pocket, sadly.

Leo did that so you'd have to buy two instead of 1 & a 1/2.

Did Hendrix have a Strat with a Tele neck on it?
BTW, I've seen the Hyde Park thing. Clapton looks really uncomfortable. J

They we're all whacked up there! Baker was smoking doobies right in the middle of a song! Looks to me like they were tripping in that one. Love the guitar ther dashface.

Nice! I was thinking about picking up a loaded CVC body and throwing a CP50's neck on it! Might have to do it now.

That just looks right/correct to me. Always hated the Tele headstock.

Awesome! I saw Blind Faith at JFK Stadium in Bridgeport CT in "The Summer of '69". Opening band was Taste followed by Delaney and Bonnie.

Looks great. I love the double bound CV but hate the neck, I do have a Strat Roadworn neck not doing anything right now so maybe I should see if I can find a good deal on a used CV.

Cool.

I first saw EC's BF Tele in a GP magazine article back in the 80s. It was a photo of him from the Hyde Park show and they made sure to mention the strat neck on it in the photo caption. I was immediately intrigued by that guitar, as I thought the whole guitar looked sharp, even with the "incorrect" neck. That body & neck look like they belong together.
