Tilt back legs,why only Fender?
Just a thought, I wonder why this is only found on Fender amps? Such a great idea really.

You can by them seperately.

^Yes I am aware of that. I am not looking for some just thought it somewhat strange they are the only ones. I think crate may have had something similar recently but the Fender thing goes way way back. Perhaps a Pantent as suggested.

They are pricey for what they are, but do the job very well. When you install them yourself you can get the tilt angle exactly where you like it. I put some on my combo recently and I love how they tuck easily away when not in use.

Maybe 15 years ago Mesa came out with a tilt-back leg that worked pneumatically; you attached it to the back of the amp with a rubber-padded clamp (padded so you didn't damage the amp when using it), and set the angle as desired by pushing down on the device. Then you tightened it and it was set.
I still have one, and it goes unused because I use heads these days, not combos, and like to set them on top of the cab. Obviously, the head would slide off the cab if I used it. But every so often I'm tempted to take the head off the cab, pull out the leg, and use it on the cab for recording. Maybe I'll try that soon...

I almost always have an attenuator and picks on the head or combo... I think a road case or a chair are superior solutions... And readily available... But then I never played on stage at the dick cavett show.

Because Vox amps come/came with a bad ass trolley instead and Marshalls don't need no steenking legs because they're on a couple of 4x12 cabinets.

Laney has a tilt back mechanism on the bottom of their L5T-112. Not the same thing as the tilt back legs on the side of Fender amps, but it achieves the same result.

It wasn't fancy, but I screwed a couple PVC caps into the inside of one of my amps a few years ago, and stuck a couple of PVC legs, cut to the right length, in the caps. Light, cheap, and practical. Looked a bit chintzy, though...
