Info on older VHT cab?

Someone offered to sell me an older VHT fatbottom 2x12 cab, but the dimensions are significantly different from the new ones. The one that he offered to sell is 20.5" tall X 10.5" deep X 29" wide. The new one is 16" tall and 14" deep. I'm worried about the depth more than anything. It just doesn't seem deep enough to provide enough bass.

Has anyone played this cab in particular? Any thoughts?

Based on the dimensions you posted, I'd say it's actually not the fatbottom model, but their normal horizontal rear loaded cab they used to produce. It was designed to compliment the 50ST head. If that's what it really is, I had one, and it sounded great. It had a very woody knock to the attack and preformed well from clean to heavy gain. I'd grab it if the price were right.

Also, VHT used to load them with Vintage 30's in the early days and switched to their own proprietary Eminence P50 speakers. I much prefer the P50's. I should be easy to tell without opening as the P50 cab is rated at 100 watts, and the V30 cab at 120. It should be clearly marked on the back.

I would buy it unloaded and put P50's in it. He's asking $375 shipped.

That looks just like the old horizontal model. I don't think it's the fatbottom. I liked mine. Good luck if you go for it.

it's not a fat bottom, it is an older horizontal cab. i have one and it sounds great, but differs in tone to a fb cab.

I don't really want a Fatbottom anyway. I think I'm looking for something closer to a Deliverance cab.
