Reinhardt Ampzilla

I absolutely love the clips on the website. Especially Pete Thorn's 2nd clip.
Low mid sweet gain. However, I'm wondering how versatile the amp is. How's the clean tones and low gain/barely broken up tones or is it mainly a gain monster? Any first hand accounts or clips would be greatly appreciated.

It's absolutely versitile. Responds very well to reducing the volume control on the guitar, and is extremely touch sensitive. Your picking strength effects gain in the coolest way.

You clean up by backing off the gain, no problem. It does have a really nice clean and edge of clean breakup thing happening if you want it to.

Def. not a one trick pony.

I love mine, and agree with Big Mike, although you won't get super sparkly cleans like a Matchless, or lifeless sterile brightness of some other amps. The amp always has some character.

Agreed. It's not like...Reinhardt Mr. Clean type of clean tone, but it's a nice pleasant clean with edge tone.

Ampzilla is my favorite of Bob's amps.

Thanks for the help Big Mike. Is the Power scaling effective?
I don't nedd it to go down to bedroom volumes but more like an 18W at full power.

Mine has power scaling and it works really well. It replaced my need for an 18W amp in small clubs.

Oh yeah the Scaling works great in that application.
Like most volume reduction there's a bit of diminishing returns the more you're asking it to squash. But just getting down to 18wattish volumes, it works great.

Scaling is far and away the best volume reduction tool. But again, like anything, if you're squishing to apartment bedroom volumes, smaller amp first.

Ampzilla with scaling would be a fantastic gig amp for sure.
