What model Fender Strat is this?
Sorry in advance for the poor pictures, it gets dark so early these days!
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The camera did not pick it up well, but there is an incredible amount of birdseye throughout the neck (both front and back). The pickups were changed out the EMGs by previous owner and I'm not sure what the originals were. There is no serial number, just a "Fender Corona, California" neckplate. The neck does not feel like poly.. more of a satin feel. The body itself has kind of a metallic/sparkly silver finish. Can anyone help me identify the model? Pretty sure it's not a standard USA strat. Thanks in advance!

Looks like it might be a Parts-o-caster to me.
Birdseye maple neck + a '65 "transition" headstock logo ('65 logo usually found only on CS guitars or on some MIJ reissues) 2-point pivot bridge Two modern string tees on the headstock Silver body Pearl pickguards tremolo backplate with (6) holes - most modern Strats have the one larger slot hole I haven't seen a model yet that has all those features in one guitar. Looks like a mish-mosh of features & parts from various guitars. It may be all Fender parts, but something tells me it wasn't put together at a Fender factory. Also - no serial number? It's usually on the back of the headstock or near the base of the neck, just above where it joins the body. Could be an aftermarket neck with a Fender logo applied. |

This was my thought as well in regards to the neck.

One other thing: I also noticed that there's no "Original Contour Body" decal on the headstock - only Strats I know that don't have them are the American Deluxes - and the AD series wouldn't have the '65 transition logo on them.

The black plastic plug is never on a USA guitar. Why do they use those, btw? With the figuring on the neck, bright white nut, black plastic plug and 22 wide frets, it looks like it might be a Mighty Might neck or I remember the lite ash models from India or Korea Fender model had figured necks like tha with 22 frets. The body could be a Fender. If you're considering buying, pull it apart and know what you're getting. Use it as leverage to bargain.

Well if he's considering buying, he certainly should know the value of it and not get ripped. So he should care..and he evidently does.

Kinda sounds like he already bought it from his opening post though, so hopefully he didn't pay way too much for what it is.
