Smile People Luv it when U Shred~They just do!

Can We say "entertainment factor"!

Admittedly. doing it all the time would be too much for sure...
but last night I just felt like going for it & let all hell loose during my solos at a Dance Club..
The reactions from the DANCER's were just overwhelming ...
Screaming & yelling & doing air guitar imitations ..
Mega folk going out of their way on the breaks to approach me with compliments

The new Funk band I've recently joined with were also blown away ..
& asked me to go for it more often ...
They called it "Wow-ing the Crowd" ...

Ya know ... though it may fit the song ..
sometimes always trying to be 'tasteful' can be boring ..
Or maybe a better word would be 'routine' ...

I don't know ... what do U think?

Ha!

I did the same thing last night!
First time in a new venue, and things were going well.......And I just thought, go for it!
LOL

I think the other bands that play there must not let loose like that much. Because I get a great reaction from the crowd, and then the club's manager after we finished.

Of course, I didn't do it EVERY tune. But, each Set I went off on 2 or 3 tunes.
The rest of the band was even pretty cool about it. (Probably because it worked! LOL Otherwise.......).

Felt good, too!

Who says having some fun and making musical sense are mutually exclusive? I say ALWAYS do what you feel in the moment.

Yeah it's crazy. I never thought that people would respond so favorably to me going in like that on a soul gig, but they sure do.

A few weeks ago, I had $3 at my feet after a solo at that art gallery gig we did, and two weeks ago, I had the finest thickest girl in the place walk up and place a $20 on my pedal board!

She was gone before the end of the set though, so no "Dear Penthouse Forum" story for me this time.

Bright colors, if used judiciously, can really dress up a room. Too much though, and it kind of hurts the eyes. Or like highlights on a Bob Ross painting. What happens if a painter uses too many highlights on a bush I wonder? Do they become lowlights? Sounds like you found the balance and shared some FUN with people. Nice.

correct, but it's like jalapeno, a little goes a long way.
they also love it when you play bb king licks note for note & that guitar part from the M&M song "lose yourself" always goes down well.

Most of the people who rag against shredding, are people that don't have that particular skill. Like people say, all things in moderation, but being able to blow loose every so often can be a great thing.

If you're Michael Angelo Batio, it's pretty annoying, but stretching out for the occasional mid set wank is something I look forward to.
