When I was in Brazil a few years back they had a shower head water heater.

It attaches to the water pipe and has a 220v electric heater in it.

The wires from it were attached to wires coming out of the wall with wire nuts.

I was astonished and afraid at the same time but I guess it is a common practice down there.

I was in Mexico years back at a nice hotel. The bathroom had a nice shower, fully enclosed in nice tiles.

But the illumination came from a 60W bulb hanging from the ceiling (inside the shower) by a piece of zip cord. It was controlled by a conventional wall switch located inside the shower.

I showered in the dark
