Looking for feedback from the TGP crew: Fusion tune

Hey guys,

Here is a rough mix from a recent recording session. I know what I hear, but I would like some members to chime and give me some feedback. Especially would appreciate guys like Scott Lerner, Chuck, Tomo, etc. giving me some idea of what they hear.

The guitar parts aren't complete yet, and we need to tighten some things up after the fact. The solo starts around 4:02.

Many thanks in advance!

A working link might do better, like this :

I'm no fusion guitarist, but I'd personally prefer more hair on the tone, more like say some of Scott Lerners Bludo Ojai clips. More vocal and horn-like.

Thanks Blix, link fixed.

Yeah, I understand, but the bandleader wasn't in to too much grit on the track. I was going for a little more Sco type dirt, not necessarily a RF horn tone. Thanks for the comments.

Funny, I was just listening to my Star Trek IV soundtrack LP vinyl yesterday, and it was scored by the Yellowjackets. I can honestly tell you, this track sounds better than them on that record.

--- > "I initially assumed this was a Yellowjackets cover because of the track name.. but it sounds better than them anyways."

I think the performances are great and it should be no problem making this even more slick sounding when you mix it out.

I like the guitar solo it's tone is real cool, too. The horns sound real nice... it all is high quality. It all is great.

Thanks to all who posted feedback!

Here is another rough mix, with a decidedly Scofield feel. I couldn't help myself
