Fuchs ODS 50

Hey Andy or Scott, I see that one of my favorite artists,Jake Cinninger is using the Fuchs.Congratulations! My question was if the voicing on the new 50 watter has more gain on tap.Jake's sound leans toward heavier gain stylings and a punchy clean sound. Not that I dont like the voicing of my 100,I thought it was more of a jazz fusion sound, more roots rock than the high gain stuff Jake Cinninger is usually known for.If I like what I hear I could see a 50 in the future.Could you give me some specs on Jakes rig?Thank you.

woah, cool site!

but, i finally got to try a true to life ODS-50 with all the trimmings, and good lord, what a killer amp!!!

simply put: fat, meaty, thick, chunky, and yes, more than enough gain on tap, and this with a strat!!. not quite a diezel, but again, its more than enough for most styles. mind you this was the 1x12 combo with the FAT speaker, and it literally sounded just HUGE. you can definitely make it sound smoother with the flick of the rock/jazz switch, but in rock mode, it really is RAWK. convinced me enough to make me finally send in my ODS-30 to be setup to updated specs!

FYI, that very afternoon, i went to another shop to try out a TR Jade 1x12 combo 50 watter w/ TR-1265 speaker, and honestly, i thought it sounded much smaller and thinner. also the gain seemed to be higher, but was much more fine grained and sandy, and not my cup. didnt quite have the punch of the Fuchs. a shame, cause before i thought the Jade was REALLY nice thru a Bogner 4x12. and i'm pretty sure the speaker's been well broken in, cause its been there for a few weeks.

IMHO, the new Fuchs is definitely an amp to be reckoned with.

And when I try to check this out I get this page even though I'm using Firefox (from the same code base as Netscape 7).

So not only does their beer suck, but so does their webmaster.

I can't say enough about how good my Fuchs sounds now with the touch of Scott Lerner, and these Eminence Tonespotters!

Great feel and tone!

Jakes amp

Jakes amp is actually a special hand tuned version I simply won't make available to anyone else. It's our new "Jam-band" tuning system, for which I'm waiting on a US patent. Sorry guys.

NOT!

Jake's amp was bought at Mak'n Music in Chicago, off the shelf.

Congrats on Umphrey's McGee winning the Song of the Year at the Jammy's a week or so ago !

A Pignose would sound good with Scott's touch. His new Reggae clip shows the SLX 50's sweet top end with a nice "narl". I am starting to GAS over a Fuch's more all the time.

Peace,
Duffy King
