Fuse values - 240 volts
I have a Super Reverb and a Deluxe Reverb clone. Both amps have multi tap power transformers and are set up for 240 VAC. BTW I live in Sydney. Just curious abut the fuse values. The Deluxe has a 2A slow blow and the Super 3 amp which I think is correct according to the schematic. However these amps were desidned for 110 VAC. On my other gear (such as mic pre's) when running at 240 volts, the value of the fuse is usually half what it would be when running at 110 volts.
I'm thinking I should be running a 1A for the Deluxe and 1.5 amp for the Super. Just hoping that someone could clarify this for me. I'd hate to blow some key components in the event of a problem just because I'm running too high a value in the fuses. Cheers |

I would cut the fuse value in half. It definitely won't hurt anything.

On the back panel: Read Power Consumption XXX VA. Divide by 240 to get current consumption. Increase that number by 10% or choose nearest higher standard value. That's your fuse rating.
Or do as Adam suggested

^ That doesn't always work, though. The inrush current may be significantly higher than normal current draw. Fuses may have to be rated for that.
I would rather consult the manual or the manufacturer to find out what value they have specified. |
