Good Muff clones

I'm looking for a muff style fuzz and I wanted to know what muff clones you guys use and recommend. I've checked out Stomp under foot which sounds amazing and the BYOC pedals but I 've never built a pedal before but I am curious to see if I could do it. How does the EH Muff pedals esp. the Little Big Muff compare tone wise.

stomp under foot would probably be one of the better cheaper, easily available options.

Stomp Under Foot is the best value and runs the gamut of options.

Ronsound pedals start cheaper than the Stomp Under Foot. range. The Ronsound Hairpie Classic is a very fine fuzz indeed

I owned the Little Big Muff right before two SUF muffs. SUF destroys what EHX is doing right now sound-wise, and a much better footprint, and still very inexpensive considering the quality. Plus, you pick the exact type of muff sound you want.

Another vote for Stomp Under Foot. Lots of selection, good prices, great quality and very good customer service, with short wait times!

I'm really happy with my SUF "Civil War" Muff. Sounds great and VERY well-built.

If you're looking for lots of different sounds from a muff, not just the classic mid scooped woofy sound, check out the Blackout Musket Fuzz.

Very versatile, and sounds great, and a really small footprint.

Please describe the differences between these two...and why the Civil War is the keeper of the bunch. I'm ready to pull the trigger on one of these.

These two are VERY different, IMO.

VRH = Lots more mids, slightly brighter, more cut, more fluid. Seems much more suited to leads. stacks well.

Civil War = A TON more bass, darker and grittier than the VRH. Not as forgiving on leads, but this isn't a big deal since this pedal stacks just as well as the VRH. This just sits in a post-rock mix magically. It's like a wall of sound. There's no other way to describe it. sick sick sick. I like all of the muff pedals I listed, but there is no substitute for this sound in my rig.

Not talked about much round here parts but these guys make a divine early muff clone. They got a demo up against the D*A*M it looks.
