played RI princeton and deluxe today

first time i had ever had the chance to crank those two up.

man that is THE sound i was looking for.

only issues....the princeton farted out...a lot. whats the deal with that?

also, i play clubs and theaters and am wondering on a large wood stage, not in a carpet covered box of a room, how loud that deluxe is going to be before it gets that drive going on.

I'm considering getting a prri for my practice room. Farted out, eh? Maybe the speaker just needs breaking in? That said, I find some farts musical.

I also think the prri would sound awesome in stereo with my ac15 clone.

I don't know about that. There are a LOT of 10" speakers out there on the market and I'm sure there are much better options than the stock jensen c10r.

It took about 4 or 5 months, for my 10" speakers (Jensen C10R & Eminence Legend 105) to break in. The C10R has more blackface sparkle. The Legend 105 has more of a raw tweed sound. After breakin, they sound muck closer. But, the C10R still farts out sooner. The Legend has a tighter bottom end, and more volume.

I use a Weber 10F150 and have also used a 10A125 in my Princeton Reissue and they both work much better than the stock speaker. I've not gone to a replacement output transformer as some do since the speaker change with some good tubes and proper bias give me what I want. I use the Princeton RI live every week with a Nocaster, run the volume at about 6 or a little more, treble at 5, bass at 3 and it sounds tight and full.

The Princeton needs a Jensen C12N 12" speaker with a ceramic magnet.

With the PRRI sometimes as you turn up the volume you need to turn down the bass. A 12" speaker ruins the whole sound of the PRRI, just install a better 10" speaker.

The reissue Princeton needs something. That thing is a fart machine. Big disappointment for me.

The large wood stage will help with the projection of the Deluxe but you'll still get grind getting up to around three on the volume, sooner if you're using humbuckers (Tweed Deluxe that is, you didn't specify which Deluxe).

Priceless.

I run together a SFPR (stock CTS spkr) with a Avatar 2x12 cab, and a BJr with a Lopoline 1x12. No farts. No smell. No mess.

NO it doesn't, it needs a T020 Ot by Heyboer, to cure the farting bottome end, or a better spkr. like the Scumback 30 watt ceramic 10 i stuck in mine. I like the way the prri sounds with a 10, it's just right. I had a drri, and sold it after a Crex, clip, and Brimars, it just never really sounded as good as my prri.
