What grill cloth came on Marshall cabs in the '70's?

What colors of grill cloth came on 4x12 Marshall cabs in the '70's? Especially around '76?

I had a '74 B cab that came with (I think it's called) checkerboard. Here's what it looks like, and what I'm used to seeing from that era:

I wonder what ever got in Marshall's mind to start using that horrible black grill cloth they use now? Just awful and not classy at all.

Marshall phased in the more aggressive looking black weave cloth, in part, to coincide with the bolder appearance of the master volume series amps.
