Scumback h55 in a Marshall studio 15?

Anybody try this? Any predictions? Thing sounds great, but I'm looking for a little more beef and low end than my current G12H30. Thanks!

I don't have a Marshall Studio 15, but I do have a Scumback H55 65w 8ohm speaker installed in my Carr Rambler 1x12 combo. That combination really made my Rambler sound huge and full sounding. It will definitely give you "more beef and low end".
I highly recommend the Scumback H55 among other great speakers that Jim provides...

Thanks! Does it have the beef but still stay tight?

I have a Scumback H55 in a Marshall Studio 15 sounds much better than the V30 but alas the cab is just too small. The speaker sounds better in a larger cab just nothing you can do about that the size of the stock combo cab is too small for a 12" speaker. Plug the amp into an external cab and you'll see what I mean. Probably your best bet it to have the amp put in a head box and have a separate speaker cab or even have a custom combo cab made the size of a Twin.

+1, really cool little amp with a boxy little speaker cab. Run into a better cab it comes alive....

Howcome the G12H30 Greenback would fit whereas the H55 Scumback doesn't, if the cab is that tight?

Huh, I put an H75 8 ohm 65w in the one I had, no issues. The H55 should fit in there fine, it's the same size.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I think 908SSP meant that it was too small of cab acoustically for a 12'' speaker. That it just doesn't sound big no matter what. I can see that being the case.

It does absolutely sound huge out of my 2x12 closed back with a v30 and G12H30. Sounds like that's how it's going to have be until I can get a custom combo cabinet built.

This. Cheapest solution if it has a speaker out (can't remember) is probably to get an Avatar Vintage 1x12 with a G12H30 in it for under $300 shipped and make a mini stack

........
Exactly, the speaker fits in the box just the box is too small to sound big.

In Agreement

I'm with Shovelhead and Meterman - there's nothing wrong with the Studio 15 but it won't sound as big/has more tonal potential when using a larger cab - even if it's still a 1x12. Remember, it was designed for studio use which also includes " ease of portability " - like Larry Carlton using a Princeton.
