Who's using an EQ after dirt?

I currently am not using and EQ after my dirt. I want to hear from those that do and why?

Merry Christmas!

I'm doing that. I suppose because I wanted to change things that the OD was imparting to the tone.

I guess I'm just struggling with the idea...seems I'm suffering from too many knobs already, amp, pedals, etc...

Is it an always on pedal?

I use an EQ to scoop the mids after my fuzz pedal. Gives it a nice heavy sound. The EQ is off when the other dirt pedals are on.

I have a Barber EQ pedal after my overdrives. My amp is a 5E3 tweed Deluxe clone, so it only has a tone knob instead of three band EQ on the amp. The EQ pedal is always on.

MDEQ, mostly at home when I can't crank my amps up - I don't need it playing loud. It fills out the low end and puts a little sparkle on top.

I use my EQ halfway through the gain part of my board. Comes after my Germanium big muff and MI Blue boy, before my MXR DS 3. That's really for space reasons, because the EQ is always on so I don't mind it sideways, but I like the sound anyways.

I keep my SunFace on all the time, using Fender guitars into Fender amps. Things can get thin but the EQ restores all the mids the fuzz face circuit scoops and that are inherently missing from the Fender>fuzz>Fender combination. I get to keep all the cool touch sensitivity and dynamics of single coils+fuzz+clean amp and and also fat presence that keeps the guitar in the mix. For me, it's perfect.

My EQ is set to enhance my default guitar tone and allow me to sit better in the mix. I try to keep my dirt pedals as transparent as possible, even my Hot British, so my EQ remains relatively consistent in the band mix whether the pedals are on or off.

Same basic setup w/ a Barb EQ and a Clark Gullah amp (basically a 15W Tweed Champ). Works great ...because the Gullah has a single Tone knob only.
