The fabric is called twill but nobody outside the cloth trade and clothing design set seem to care. Tweed is a misnomer because that name denotes a fabric which is a heavy homespun Hebridean woolen shrunk in vats of piss (no joke) to twice the density of the original weave and used for Harris Tweed sportcoats and hats.
