1971 Gibson Flying V CUSTOM
From Guitar Trade in NJ, June of 1982:
"Flying 'V' custom ordered from the Gibson factory in 1971 with the following unique features: natural mahogany bodu bound front and back in multiple black & white binding. ebony fretboard with pearl block inlay, gold plated heardware, stop tailpiece, original factory paperwork, excellent original condition. $1250" Shows that they made 1 of everything. ;-)

Those Guitar Trader mailers were awesome to get... You could have probably bought a Burst in the same issue for three grand.

Lessee...'59 Burst. 2 of them. One $7500, the other $9000.
I remember them closer to 4K in the late 70's, and they would pay for your Cab ride to and from Newark Airport if you bought one! |

I remember seeing Bursts for 3 back then but there may have been something changed on them?
