Matchless C-30 owners, PEDALBOARD PHOTOS!

Just wondering those who own the Matchless DC30/SC30/HC30.
What do your pedalboards look like?

I'd post, but I can't find a single drive pedal that I like with my amp.

This is an old photo, right after I sold my AM Chorus (which was very nice). Now it has aTimmy, M13, EX-7, Fuzz factory, FD2, Zen, NuValve, homemade boost and Riot

Even Older

I had a SC30 and tried all of these - Dumkudo, Zendrive, Ethos, Jetter GSR, ProAnalog Dual Drive, Timmy, Menatone TBIAC, and many more.

The best pedals for this amp were the ProAnalog Dual Drive and Timmy. I think you are better served with boosters and driving the preamp, overdrives usually equal fail.

I have since sold mine as I like the Chieftain and Clubman more.

@guitarchris

How does the fuzz factory work with the C-30? I mean the Matchless is very rich in the upper harmonics department, while the fuzz factory is a lean, mean CUTTING machine. Both are top-heavy.
Does it go along well? And your Stab settings on the FF just screams oscillation to me mate!

Any LM308 Rat, Muff or clones, Korg SDD-3000 preamp users here?

The FF gets very little use. I mostly use it for something different on solos. I use it for a glitchy lead sound mostly, I'll have to run to the basement to check my settings. It does cut a little to much for use as a normal fuzz with the SC-30 and still doesn't have enough low end for use with my /13 LDW, at least not for me.
The FD2 has been my main OD for 8 or 9 years on the the Sc-30's Top Boost channel. The Timmy's been there for a couple of years and isn't going anywhere. The zen and nuvalve work very well with the Matchless.

I've also had a ton of others, rated on a scale of 1-10:
FD2:9.25 (9 for sound,9.5 for functionality)
Zen: 9.5 it's what you've heard it is
Riot:9 very cool heavy sound
Gt-500 (grey): 9 A/B'd w/ the Riot in my book, lil more open sounding
Timmy:9.75 you need one, swiss army knife of OD ( I use as light OD)
nuvalve:9 very open and amp like many tones inside this one
Jetter GSR: 8 very good, zen sounded better
Jetter GSB:7.5 nice but not quite there
SCOD:5 not my thing, very blah mush, and I really wanted it to work
AC booster:7.5 thick but, lack luster when A/B'd with something else
Destination drive:7 good marshally drive
Vintage RAT:7 not enough lows with SC-30
Crunch box: 8.5 Great Distortion, one trick horse
OCD (V1, V3):8.5 fantastic, versatile, light to heavy
Fat boost: 8.5 great if you set amp for break up and hit hard,i use for solos
Ibanez TS9: 8 for sound, 7 over all, better versions out there
Modded SD-1: 8 same comment as TS9, get a FD2
Fulltone '69: 7.5 can't remeber why I sold it
Distortion Pro: 7 better than most say, lots to dial in,was there for a long time
Bad Monkey:5.5 good but never gelled with it, fairly boxy
Keeley Fuzz head: 7 cool, sounds good with Sc-30...not aggressive enough for most fuzz used needs. more like a fuzzy overdrive.

There are others that I can't recall, I still have the ones listed on my board and the RAT,Crunch Box, OCD (V1),GT500 and Fuzz Head. The Rat and FH would be gone if I wasn't such a pedal hoarder.

I glanced at my current Fuzz factory settings: Volume: to taste G:1 o'clock Comp:noon Drive:to taste, at 2 now Stab:11-12.....pretty much what's in the picture. You have to tune the Stab to not scream at you. Of course with the FF you have to dial it in to what works with your set up. This setting gives me a cool sound for leads.
I need to look up the Fuzz Factory settings list that used to be on Harmony Central FX's years ago.

I dont have a pic but the two best pedals with my HC30 are the Timmy and Menatone TBIAC. I thought the TBIAC would be overkill but i was wrong, sounds so good with the Matchless. I also run a Line 6 DL4, Homebrew analog delay.

you used your rat as a low gainer or a high gainer?
i love rats with most amps, marshalls, voxes and some fenders.
although my settings are insanely different for different amps.

and i agree on the fuzz factory. although i wont drop it from my board. alone it doesnt sound good but in the mix it cuts so well i cant remove it.

and your fulltones run at 18V or 9V?

i was trying to got for a heavier dirt with the RAT. I then tried it at lower settings. It's a cool pedal I just like other pedals much better. Mine is an older version and I don't want to mod it, so I'm stuck with the way it does it's thing. In all fairness I'm probably due to spend some more time with the RAT....maybe with my freshly refurbished Sunn Septre, that thing has the low end!!!

I haven't tried any of the fulltone's at 18V, I'm betting I'll really like what it does. As I wrote in another thread about my fulldrive and zen: I wish Alf made the zen in a dual footswitch set up like the FD2. I love the openness of the zen and the functionality of the FD2. They both are fantastic.
