Fun NYE Gig Clip: "Miss You" Jam

Gotta love it when we totally geek out for 4:00 on a song that's more than 30 years old... and a really young crowd is really into it!

That's me on the Tele. The guy playing the LP is a friend of ours who has done some big tours... he's the house sound tech at this bar and always comes up to do a few songs with us. We also did Good Times Bad Times and Ramble On... wish I had video of those!

A few things to point out...

1. I love how this guy can solo over the same 2 chord groove forever and never sound like he's repeating himself.
2. My LP never sounds that sweet when I play it.
3. I love the way our drummer follows us... he's an animal!
4. Octafuzz goodness at 1:25!
5. The singer (normally the other guitar player too) shot this from the stage with a tiny flip cam. He had a few drinks in him at this point (actually we all did)... and he was trying to shoot out at the crowd when he came back in with the vocals... the result is pretty funny... holy blair witch project!

I always thought this tune had a great groove. Unfortunately the audio in the clip is terrible, a distorted mess. I can't hear the bass either, I can't get past the issues with the audio to focus on the guitar.

Sorry dude not a good vid to post....

ouch man... it's a flip cam video... shot on stage, so the mix isn't anywhere near perfect... in a bar with a few hundred loud people... wasn't exactly trying to get a record deal from it...

and the audio is pretty clear on my computer...

but thanks for watching!

Actually like UR playing much more then the other fellows ...
Your tone/sound, sense of pocket/groove goes down a lot easier

thank you kind sir!

i've posted clips of him playing with us before... i guess should always point out that the entire reason we bring him up is to go off... so he's showing no restraint. he's also playing my stock LP through our singer's ultra-budget rig (read: non TGP-approved)... and he'd had quite a few beers at that point...

i can't even come close to keeping up with him chops-wise... so rather than compete... i tried to contrast. we both got a good laugh when i started doubling his skynyrd-ish lick at the end of that clip...

we actually did another breakdown at the end of the song where we went back and forth a little more... that was pretty cool... but there's no video...

Um yeah... I dig your stuff more than the LP guy. Yes, your drummer is an animal.

Mine is just like yours.... He will go off on that stuff too.

That was a great jam man. Loved it.

thanks a lot... will pass that on to the other guys. we're not really a jam band... but we have a few songs where if the crowd is into it... we'll just go off and do our thing for a while. and while the drummer is following us... we pretty much all feed off of him. he's unbelievable. what's lost in that video too... our bass player was layin' it down during that whole thing. when i listened with headphones i could hear him a little better... but he's really got killer bass tone... he plays a sadowsky 5-string through some boutique head.

and since you said our drummer was an animal... i guess i have to post this video from halloween...
