Helpl!!! Mesa Boogie Horizontal 2x12 Rectifier Cab? should I get one?

Anyone who plays rawk and roll got any good or bad experiences with these? I play mostly punk, blues-punk, garage, and rawk. I am using a 1982 Gibson LP Goltop with stock pickups, a 55 LP JR, a 63 LP Junior and a parts-Tele with broadcaster style PUs. My amps are both Satelitte Atoms and sound deadly with my 76 GB loaded 4x12, but I want one I can carry or use for smaller clubs. I would likely reload the Mesa if it is worth it with a pair of Scumback M65s I have around. The price of the used one I am looking at is 375 CAD and it is mint.

Can anyone give me some advice and detail their experience with this cab? I want a 2x12 with some sonic semblance to a 4x12...kind of like the Dr. Z Z bests...

Help!

They definitely have a big sound to them, and they're very solidly built.

I had one, I should have kept it. I loaded mine with a couple of Emi Tonkers. It sounded huge with the Mesa MKIII I used to own. The cab is built flawlessly. I never had a chance to try it when I went through my boutique phase. Would have loved to test with a lot of the amps I have gone though...

I have one that sounds great with with the stock speakers and with a Mesa Mark IV. Not sure if the oversized cab might sound flubby with those G65M's. It is a heavy 2x12 and very well built. It can be hard to hear when placed at floor level since it is so low to the ground.

I love it with my Mesa Mark IV. I think the tighter V30's pair well with the exaggerated bass boom that is inherent in it's oversized design.

Mine was great for bridge pickup chugga chugga but seemed boomy when used in any other context (ie cleans, diff pickup configs). I'd like to try one that was ported somehow.

HA...funny. I ended up getting one. too out the V30s as I am not a fan and replaced the speakers with some Scumback M65s. It was better, but not really to my liking. a ported one or something less Boogie I guess is more my taste. I am going to sell it now and look for something else or just live with my 76 original GB loaded Marshall 4x12.

They're great, only issue is reaching down to your ankles to adjust amp settings.

Consider the old vertical Mesa 2 X 12"s - waaaay cool for your music & amps.
