I have 2 Warehouse ET65's coming in.
I have read too many posts saying that a 100 watt head should have a 200 watt speaker cab. Right now my cab has 2 emi private jacks (50 watt) and 2 celestion greenbacks(25 watt).
I am going to pull the greenbacks and put in the et65's. Now how are these speakers and company in general? Is the quality of build up there with the rest of them? Eventully I am going to pull the 2 alnico blues out of my 65 amps 4x12 and put the greenbacks in there(other 2 speakers are g12h30s) so I dont blow that cab with my Royal Albert head.

I have WGS ET65 speakers in my Morgan 212 cab. The speakers sound great to me. Bought the first one used and once hearing it immediately ordered a new one. I either run a 50 watt Granger Solo Plexi head and most recently a Tomaszewicz TZZ17 through the cab. The speakers sound fantastic with both amps.

Did you buy 8ohm or 16ohm speakers? The reason I ask is in the past for my 2x12s I always ordered a 16ohm speaker, wired them in parallel. I thought this was the safest way to run a cab, in case one of the speakers blew, the OT wouldn't be running unloaded. Recently I took 2 8ohm speakers and wired them in series and loved the sound. Then a couple of weeks later I was playing a used Marshall 4x12 cab that had the speakers wired to 4ohm and thought it was the best sounding Marshall cab I'd ever heard. |

They are 8ohm speakers......cab was wired first at 16 and now at 4. I couldnt tell any difference in tone. I figure if something went wrong with one speaker and the cab was suddenly running at 8 it wouldn't hurt the amp running at 4.....I have the correct right?....you can run the ohms higher with the cab??

I had one for about two years and loved it. I just traded it away but I miss it. They are great speakers and I will buy another one. Break it in nicely and let us know what you think.

PJ and ET65 is a nice combo. A bit too much speaker breakup for me but since you had greenbacks in there - you'll probably love it.

FWIW-Wire for convienience - not safety. If one blows its pretty much a given the other will go quickly afterward if your pushing them that hard. In 30 + years of playing Ive never had a speaker just go unless it was being pushed way farther than it was intended. Bob

You will like them. My buddy's JCM800 sounds fantastic with them.

I've got a bunch of different Warehouse speakers including the ET 65, the Reaper and Veteran 10. I love them all and the company has been great to deal with. I've used a bunch of Celestions and Jensons among others over the years and I think the Warehouse stuff is as good as anything. Unless their quality drops or their prices go way, way up, I'm sticking with them. Hope this is useful.

Just got a pair of ET65s yesterday and I can tell you that these are great speakers. I compared them to an original well broken in Marshall/Celestion G1265. While the new RI Celestion G1265 Heritage sounds pretty much the same after a longer break in period as the original G1265, they both have a certain peakiness and harshness. That kept me always in a love/hate relationship with this type of speaker. The Warehouse ET65, while not broken in yet, feels less stiff, rounder and more open. It has these nice and exclusive mids of a good Greenback/small magnet type speaker that the Celestions should produce, but actually lack. The ET65 sounds warm and round, while being open and dynamic enough for a small magnet type speaker. The overall perceived loudness seems to be a tiny bit less than the Celestions, but this can most likely become a mute point after they get fully broken in. All in all I have to say that I am really glad that I tried these speakers. As a dedicated speaker junkie, I have owned and tested easily a couple of hundred different 12" guitar speakers over the years, be it Celestion, Electrovoice, Fane, JBL, Scumback, ASW, Weber, Eminence, Mojo and Alltone. The ASWs sounded very nice out of the box, but all others needed more or less, but significant break in time to sound their best. The ET65s need break in time too, but this does not bother me since they sound great out of the box already. For the price they are asking for, Warehouse Speakers seem to have a clear advantage in the guitar speaker market right now. If their other speaker models are similarly convincing, I am almost inclined to say "why look somewhere else?"
