Who doesn't use Delay???
Just curious who doesn't use a delay in their setup.
What are you using either in place of it? Or, is your solo's just clean boosted? I usually run reverb on the amp I am using and just use a tube screamer on top of the dirt channel for solos. I have a DD-3, but I just can't get myself happy with using it for soloing... Thoughts???

Another delay-less player...I dont use any effects...
I play in a U2 tribute band and I am able to cop all the tones with my fingers, and I can make up for no delay or reverb with my strumming...

I don't use delay (though it would be fun to have something like an Aqua Puss someday). I use tremolo and reverb. Basically, I can kind of cheat because my trem (the Red Witch trem) can split the signal (Bottom control) so that as little as half of the signal tremolo's. That keeps the sound constant, but gives waves on top of it and it, sorta, kinda sounds like a weak delay. Works for me. I'd rather have fewer pedals.

I feel naked without delay. Especially when I'm without reverb.
If I can't have reverb, I want delay and vicey versey... I prefer both however. And my delay is usually very subtle (save for certain songs that just scream for a massive slapback) just so it can kind of complement the insane amounts of reverb I like to use. That's just me. |

Subtle delay + subtle reverb = awesome

Is it ok if I quote you? Im going to get this tatooed on my left forearm (so I can see it when I play)...I agree totally...imo there is nothing more boring and lifeless than a dry clean guitar tone...I likes the ambient touch!

No delay here, just compression with subtle modulation.

Hate delay, love reverb. If I can't have reverb, I'd rather just play dry.

I never use delay or reverb for that matter...
I'm just now toying with the idea of adding some echo to my smaller rig but just not sure it's worth it for me... Worst of all I have a killer sounding EP-3 sitting downstairs! |

I love messing about with delay but I've never been able to work it into a song. I just mess around with it and go "mmm, purty". Fun, but not very practical!!
