Good Catch. I'm thinking about trying a studio pro. Just curious if it holds up to its big brothers cleans.

just tells you how much money they were makin' before if they can drop the price $750.00 and still make a profit. . .

i'd be kinda pissed about this if I had bought one of those amps before. . .

Without knowing whether they're doing it by cutting corners it's hard to say.

I wouldn't assume they're still making a profit. Obviously I don't know for sure either way, but it may be a break-even temporary situation to reduce inventory or bring in needed capital.

Going to PCB in place of 100% handwiring saves time and labor costs.

Richest dudes I ever met!! Shit, when I drive up to Bill Krinard's Mansion I am truly humbled by his obvious wealth as a result of charging too much for the 4000 amps they sold in 10 years. NOT!!!

Amp making is not going to make anyone much more than a decent living no matter how much they charge and how many they sell. It's a business that requires a whole lot of expenses beyond the sum of the parts.

Sheesh!

Snider's right.

If you're not in possession of all the facts, it's really unfair to speculate.

I gave Bill Krindard A LOT of $ for an amp he designed and built and...I hope he is rich as he deserves it! The amp is very close to perfect for me.

since the buyout, they are probably trying to make their line more available to more players. i would bet it's the same quality. the jet sig IS STILL a sig! i think it's a good move.

yeah, I'm sure you guys are probably right. . .the company that bought out Two Rock is not interested in making a profit, they only want to break even

Seriously though, what if you bought a new car or house and then a month later the manufacturer dropped the price 20%? You probably wouldn't be too thrilled about that.

I'm not bashing Two Rock amps, I know they're great, but I've long thought that they are overpriced at 5-6k (and up) for a guitar head. As far as I know they are the most expensive new amp out there, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. If most boutique amp manufacturers can make a profit pricing their amp heads at 3-4k and Two Rock is just barely making it (as Snider implies) then there's something wrong with how they're running their business.

a lot of amp builders are one guy in a garage. two rock is a business, with employees, overhead , and yes, even profit. how much do you think your employer pays to have you work there? ss tax, workmans comp, disability, health insurance, paid vacations, unemployment tax , sick days etc. not cheap to run a business on the books. in california.in the usa.

If a manufacturer lowers their price they piss off the previous customers how already purchased their amps at the higher price. If they raise their price, the piss off the potential new customers and look greedy. Either way someone is upset.

To me Two Rock lowering their prices is a good thing. They are still out of my budget, but for some the lower price might have put them in their budget....
