Should I buy a Wampler Clean Buffer?

I play a lot of speed metal, death-core, solos, you name it, if it shreds, I play it. Now:

I play a PRS Custom 22 through a Mesa Boogie Rectoverb Combo 50w. I run my guitar, in sequence, through my Boss Chromatic Tuner, MXR 10 Band EQ, EVH Wah, Boss NS-2 Suppressor.

Is there any need for me to buy this?! I ask because when someone is playing this loud, has a small amount of mid scoopage, lots of gain, and high treble and presence, will I be able to tell a difference in the tone? I have my settings perfect for what I am going for, but I always feel that if something can give me a crisper tone, ill buy it.

Best,
Evan

IMHO the Boss Chromatic Tuner already has a decent buffer in it and your chain doesn't have too many tone-suck culprits. If you want a crisper tone, get a Clean Boost that can double as a Buffer: Cusack More Louder, Catalinbread Super Chili Picoso, Fulltone FB-3, MXR CAE Line Driver, ZVEX SHO immediately come to mind.

Yeah, as sutherland said, you don't need a buffer.

One of the boost type pedals he listed might benefit you more, if even needed. I personally haven't had luck with boosters and my Trem-O-Verb. I think because Mesa's are obviously so pre-amp distortion heavy already, and you stated that you already run a high gain on your amp, I think you'll just end up with more, but not desirable, compression and farty/noisy gain than anything else.

At least that was the case for me.

I have a MXR 10 band as well (pretty much required with Mesa recto type amps, eh?) and think just playing with boosting the input/output volume and slight EQ adjustment on the MXR would be a place to start. I would try playing with that before dropping dime on another boost pedal which may not work for you...

Cool

I'd pull the tuner from the chain or put it in a loop. Replace the MXR EQ with a Fromel Shape, which happens to have a really cool, switchable buffer. It's also more transparent than the MXR. This advice and $1.50 will get you a cup of coffee.
