Problem with Hardwire RV-7

I love this pedal, but the algorithm selection pot isn't working properly. The different algorithms are between the nothces in the pot, so it's kinda hard to select the sound I want.
Anyone know what type of wrench you need to open the top panel up? My wrenches (made to eutopean spec) were marginally too small.

Anyone know what might be causing this though?

Bump, I'd understand it if the illustrations didn't match up with the notches in the pot. But the different sounds are actually between the notches.
Any ideas?
