60's - 80's classic rock cover guys - what's on your board

I ask, as that is what I play, but haven't a real clue what effects would be standard issue. For so much, it seems to me to be just guitar and amp, but I tend to oversimplify.

I'm on the fence towards jumping into a multi-effect unit, but one hurdle holding me back is will I even need all of these effects. With a Tone Bender MkII, Screwdriver and Timmy, I feel I've got the dirt covered, with a '74 RI Phase 90, Choralflange, Nova Delay and RV-7 reverb on the back deck. Am I missing something?

So for you guys playing classic rock covers, what's on your board, and if you'd care to share, why?

Looks like you have dirt (various levels) covered. The phaser is a good one to have on hand as well as chorus/flanger/delay. You might want to think about a wah (depends on specific songs you're doing) and/or something to emulate a rotating speaker (Leslie) sound.

I play 75% classic rock/blues, think The Who, The Small Faces upto SRV etc. It's not a neccessity, but if I were you I'd add a Wah, and perhaps maybe a compressor. Other than that you've made some good dirty choices and your modluation section looks solid!

Just add a wah and MAYBE a leslie and you'll have it all covered IMO
I don't think you'll need a tremolo, for example, neither a compressor. If you play live and use a miced tube amp, the natural tube compression itself aswell as the way the PA usually f*cks up the sound cutting some frecuencies is enough compression.

just get a wah.... Maybe a Big Muff while your at it.

I have a muff, bad monkey, sunface, carbon copy and I'm buying a wheels of fire wah tonight. I'm pretty much into blues, blues rock, a little bit of punk, psychedelic, garage rock and southern rock.

My band plays mostly classic rock stuff such as Neil Young, The Who, CCR, The Grateful Dead, Clapton, The Doobie Brothers, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin etc. We also play some newer stuff, mostly The Black Crowes. Here's the board I used at my last show and my newest one. This board has me basically covered, especially with the addition of the FN5.

based on what you have, I personally would just add a wah.
