Angry Broken Pickups!

On my Epi LP my pickups keep cutting out! But then they'll start working again? :S Can anyone tell me what the hell is wrong with it because its annoying me!
BTW when they cut out they still play through the amp but really quiet and hardly any distortion at all and hums like a mother f***ker

probably a grounding issue....Not much to break in a pickup. Check the jack solder connection.

I bought a new Gibson SG a few years ago that had a problem, the neck pickup would cut in and out. Turns out the pickup was shorting. Check all connections and soldering in the guitar first since that is the most likely place to find the problem.

Spray a little contact cleaner in your switch and see if that helps before you do anything else.
