Question Bedroom Vocal Set-Up

My wife sings and I play electric guitar for a worship team. We practice our songs at home along with CDs, but it is impossible to hear her voice over my amp. (Yes, I know I could turn it down). I don't want to further clutter up our bedroom by adding a PA system. What I would like to do is run a microphone and the CD player into a 2-4 channel mixer, which would then go to the receiver and out to my stereo speakers. It would be great if this mixer served as a mic preamp/processor with reverb. Small size so it could fit more or less discreetly with my audio equipment, too. Does something like this exist? Any other ideas to amplify her vocals???

You'll probably blow you're stereo doing this.

I would suggest a small mixer, a headphone amp and some decent cans.

+1 to what loudboy suggest. If you don't want to add PA speakers, I don't know of another option.

If that just absolutely doesn't do it for you, consider something like the Bose L1 to run the voice + CDs through. It's not cheap but it's a great combo of "compact" and "good sounding".

There are a lot of acoustic guitar amps that also have mic inputs. Perhaps consider one of those instead of the amp you're using now. I don't recommend the home stereo approach either.

I recommend the acoustic amp-with vocal input channel as well. Dual purpose, as you could use it for any future acoustic applications.

Maybe a TC Helicon Voicetone R1 and an inexpensive powered speaker (like the Kustom stuff on sale at Musician's Friend).

Yep, I have a Roland AC60 and use it just as a small PA for vocals all the time.

Though Crate amps are shunned here, they do make rather impressive acoustic amps with XLR inputs that are cheap and sound great.
