KOT footswitch issue- advice needed

The footswitch of the yellow side of my KOT v4 is acting up. when i engage it, the overdrive sounds broken and nasty and muffled, but when i wiggle and mess with the footswitch a little bit it goes back to normal. i'm guessing its dusty or i need to clean it, so how shall i go about doing this? opinions? thought? thanks!

Probably just as easy to replace it. The switches don't cost much, and if it's causing problems now it will only get worse.

3PDT switch replacement is $40 parts/labor in this shop.
YMMV.

is it mounted to a PC board? if its just mounted to the enclosure and soldered cables, and your a dab at the soldering even just a little, it's probably easy as to sort yourself?

I sent my KOT back to him to replace my switch. It was a free repair under warranty for me. How long have you had yours? It's a board mounted switch.

Sometimes resoldering the switch will tend to get everything flowing well.

Touch up the solder joint on the switch with the problem, adding a little solder to each lug.

You need to do it quickly without heating up the switch too much. You also need to allow the switch to cool down a little before doing the next switch lug. Make sure to use SN60 or SN63 electronic solder with flux, made for electronics, not plumbing solder.

That usually fixes the switch problems. If not we can replace the switch.

Sorry about the problem!
