Post your trashed amp pics
I got this one in the mid 90s. it was pretty rough. a garage band with the name Live Wire was using it to sing through. By the time I got it, the originals speakers were long gone. I had known of the amp for awhile and it took about 2 years to track it down. The guy who had it said he was about to take it to the dump. The rectifier tube socket was broken loose and the rectifer tube was duct taped to the socket.
I took it to someone I trusted and they replaced the grillcloth. I sit with a cigarette lighter and an exacto knife and would bubble the paint and then flick it off with the knife. It was rough, but I gigged with it like that for about 5 or 6 years. Finally I sent it off to Greg Hopkins, who restored it fo me. Who else has stories of reviving trashed amps.

I don't have pics anymore but someone stripped all the tolex and piping off on my '71 100w Marshall before I got it all fixed up.
Along with other little things like remnants of stickers, a chunk of metal grate for the back panel, extra hole for some long gone mod, and a few extra wire they left inside. |

I got a call from a bandmate, saying a mutual friend had an old amp that needed "fixing up." It was not working & in generally rough shape. He said he loved the amp but hated the way it looked.
I took the chassis, Eric (who restores cars) took the cab. My part included a new fuse holder, 2 new pots, new electrolytics, balance & bias, and chassis clean-up. Eric's part was rather more involved. Before: ![]() ![]() After: ![]() ![]() We gave it back to him on his birthday. I played it at our gig that night and didn't want to let it go.

Thanks. I think those old Geminis are underappreciated gems. Sweet breakup and the reverb was excellent.

Not TOO trashed anymore. BUt when I got it, that carpet you see in the trash was NAILED AND STAPLED all over this poor bassman's head. Audio clip of this kick ass amp is in my signature.

The guy that performed some of the work on my bassman had a tweed bandmaster that someone had covered in tuck n roll like a vintage kustom.
The good thing is that it had protected the tweed for years, the bad thing was a few staple holes in the amp. |

A good friend of mine who played bass bought this Marshall cab new in '79 as part of a full stack. He used one or both cabs for 10 years or so. Both cabs were always in the back of the band truck without road cases. Heres the angle cab. Dunno whatever became of the B cab.
![]() ![]() Don't judge a book by the cover...this cab has the original quad of 25 watters that still sound great.

Maybe you could send it to rupertB and his buddy so they can resurrect this beast.
