Liquid Foot Jr replacement AC adaptor

hey tgp'ers,
i had a gig in NYC last week and the AC adaptor for my liquid foot jr. died right before the gig started. i ended up running to radio shack and the only thing they had was this:

http://www.radioshack.com/product/index ... Id=3807943

it seems to be working but i was told that it is a DC adaptor and i need an AC adaptor instead.

here are the specs for my original power supply:

input: 120v 60Hz 25w
output: 9vac 1000mA
barrel size is 2.5 x 5.5

i've tried to contact jeff at liquid foot a few times and he said that he charges $15 for a replacement but it would cost another $15 to ship it. he sounded like he really didn't want to sell me an extra due to the high shipping cost. anyways... does anyone know where i can get an exact replacement?

thanks!

Do you have any local electronics stores? Most of them carry numerous adapters. When my LF Jr adapter went bad I was able to find one that had the same output specs as the original, but I had to splice the old barrel on to the new adapter because they weren't the same size. No problems and it worked perfectly.

But if the DC version works then (I think) you should be ok. It probably goes through a rectifier first thing and converts it to DC anyway (and running a DC signal through a rectifier won't hurt it).

there are a few electronic stores close by but this adaptor seems to be a bit out of the ordinary. the barrel size of this adaptor is a bit bigger than most. i tried a google search but i can't find one with the same specs

Yeah, I'd just get one with the same output specs, clip the end, and splice the old barrel on. Pretty simple fix.

I sometimes use a Line 6 adaptor (same one used with my XTL & Variaxes) with my LF Jr.
