Arrow Can you load plain old .mp3 files on an Ipod?

.... mine are all in some funky .ACC or AAC format .... I forget what it is, but they are not MP3s.

I have two truckloads of MP3 song files that I'd like to load but don't know if my Ipod would be happy with them.

No problem. Both iTunes and the iPod support mp3.

Yes. It can play plain old wav files too. In itunes, just click 'add to library' and point to the file.

Yes. You can also convert them in itunes if you really want to (both to and from aac and mp3 i think).

99% of the close to 10,000 songs on my Itouch are MP3 based (from my own CDs). I don't know if the Itouch keeps it in MP3 format or if it converts it to AAC, but Itunes itself leaves it as an MP3 in your library unless you tell it otherwise.

It is fine yes but with AAC files you get about half the file size that you do from .mp3's of equal quality. So you can have 256 instead of 128 without compromising storage.
