Question Big Muff overpowering delay...

Hey guys. I have a slight issue with my Big Muff clone and Aquapuss delay. My setup is as follows... Strat>compressor>Tube Driver> fuzzclone>Jackhammer>Big Muff>flanger> Phase45>Aquapuss>amp. When I switch on the BM, I have to turn up the mix knob on the delay to get the same volume of effect as when the BM is bypassed. I don't have this problem with any of the other "dirt" pedals. Is this typical of the Big Muff? It's my first one and I love it. This tweaking is not a huge problem, it's just a bit annoying. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Is the problem with overwhelming sustain from the BM? It might be an issue of being a little more articulate with your picking (damping strings as needed). -E

Is this in a band setting? If so, it's the Big Muff, it has very few mids, so stomping on a stock one is like turning off your amp.

What I think it is is the excessive noise of the BM. It's not a re-issue store bought BM. I built it to the old Violet Ram's head specs. I routed it through an FX loop/switch box today to see if that did anything, but it's the same...
Oh, and this is just at the house. I haven't gigged with it yet.

Yes, I have a litle big muff and is noisy as hell. Its part of its flaver. You canīt do the big muff thing in an anechoic environment.

I use a Tubescreamer after it and a noise gate before. It helps!

I was thinking of trying a G-string Decimator? Is there any other high quality, yet price friendly gates you guys might recommend? I've always sort of steered away from them due to the effect they can have on sustain, therefore, my knowledge is limited. Thanks again for the help! Viva TGP!!

I think I've come to a conclusion... The big muff is set with the tone at around 2:30. On a brighter amp, this would sound well... brighter. My amp is a Marshall Class 5. Pretty dark, mid punchy amp. So, the BM tone sounds really good to my ears where it is. Now, add a really warm (set at MAX repeats) delay on top of that.... I think I may need a brighter delay for this pedal/ amp combo. I'd rather not go digital, but I am not sure where to go from here in the analog department...
