Delay in front of a Mk III series boogie
Has anyone tried a delay in front of a Mk III series boogie? I was thinking of adding a Carbon Copy or Memory Man?

The overdrive sounds from a MK III are generated by the preamp (like most amps). To use a delay effectively with an overdriven preamp you need to put the delay in the amp loop (fx send /return), not in front of the amp.
The Boogie amp loop is very selective about what will work with it. Pedals are not suitable, as is the case for most amp loops, moreso with the MK III. Rack units with LINE LEVEL in and out and variable input and output levels are a better choice. The Eventide Timefactor also has switches for "amp/gtr" on input and output and should work well in your amp. Any pedal you try in the loop that is designed to see a gtr level input and impedance and output level designed to feed the front end of an amp, will be a compromise in sound quality, added noise and differing levels. Hope this helps. Gary.
