What Cab and Speakers for Dr. Z Route 66

Made the "mistake" of trying out a Route 66 and now I just gotta have one! What cab/speaker combo works well with this amp? I'd like a 2X12 open back, Z-Bests are a little more than I want to spend. Whatcha think?

Z-Best cabs are complex cabs, not just a box with speakers in it...they are worth the extra cost but a good can sound good through almost any good cab.

If you won't spring for a Z-best I'd suggest any decent 2x12 with a V30/H30 combo in it.

I hear good things about TRM cabs (see link below). The front-ported design is a winner. http://www.trmguitarcabs.com/

The v30/H30 mix sound like a winner. Maybe a Greenback in there for more breakup?

I had a Greenback/V30 in a closed back 2x12 Avatar cab with mine and I thought it sounded killer; very classic rock. The 66 is a total one trick, but that trick is sooo good. It is a very low-mid heavy, dark sounding amp, maybe try a speaker combo that brightens it up a bit. My .02.

All over the Avatar choice....had a V30/G12H combo and sounded great with everything. I like the open back. Can't go wrong IMHO

On a budget, I'd go for a big Avatar 2x12 with a Warehouse Reaper 55 and a ceramic Weber Blue Dog.

I had the chance to try out a Z Best cab over the weekend, if only I had the $$$ laying around, damn fine sounding cab.

Another cab I flirted with in the past and is a little less $$ than the Z best is the THD 2x12.
