Barry Weber

Today I honor my friend Barry Weber who was one cool guy, amazing guitar player, a fellow tone chaser! It was an honor for me to jam with his son Adam and hang with many of his friends. I will really miss Barry, can't believe he's gone. His music and memory lives on and I know he's up there jammin with Jimi, Stevie, and Gary Moore! Love ya man!

Hey Scott - I'm stoked you went, wish I could have too.

My hat's off to Sonya and Adam for hosting this - great idea, great way to keep Barry fresh in our minds, and a great reason to get together. My hat's also off to everyone who was able to attend and contribute to the music.

Thanks a bunch, Dana O.

I could feel Barry,s presence in the studio yesterday. The stage power cut out around 6 times. It was as If Barry was saying " Thats not the way I would have played it".I swear I could hear him laughing the way he used to when he would say to me "No noodling behind my playing Robbie!' Damn I miss him!

How many women do you know who can manage a massive soundboard?

Sonja Weber can and she did just that on Saturday at Casa Weber.

She's such an amazing woman, such a powerful force. I can only imagine her pain, but there she was directing traffic, encouraging everyone to get up there and play loud and proud for Barry.

And, then there was Adam. Boy, did the Weber's bring up a great son. At Barry's funeral, I recall how he spoke about his dad, and the love they shared. I watched Adam as he played dad's Frankenstrat and it brought a tear to my eye. He has a beautiful voice. I imagined Barry looking down on his boy and all his many friends and saying well done.

Everything was set up in that room. The perfect home studio. All those great old Fender tweeds, his Glaswerks, pedalboards etc....just no Barry.

We all love you my friend. Know that your presence on this earth had a profound effect on many of us and we will never forget you.

Hi Pete,

Nice meeting you (sort of). I don't think we spoke, but I think we played together on Fly Like an Eagle... No??

Good stuff man! Hope we meet again.

Scott

Hey guys!

Tonight, I got home, and turned on "Antiques Roadshow", and there
was (I think) Barry Weber helping a lady with some old Jewels. He was very gracious, and helpful to her.
I never met Barry, but after seeing him on the show tonight, I could see why everyone loved him.

Wasn't Barry a regular guest on that show?

Barry was a cast member of "Antiques Roadshow" for 15 years, first starting in 1996.
