Anyone else guilty of loving pro-wrestling?

I remember being 7 years old and watching Georgia Championship Wrestling on what used to be known as WTCG (now WTBS). Guys like The Road Warriors, Mr. Wrestling #2, The Russians and The Freebirds. Then in the mid 80's it was HUGE with Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, Tully Blanchard, Ole and Arn Anderson, Nikita Koloff, Midnight Express, Rock & Roll Express and on the WWF side, Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage, Brutus The Barber Beefcake. Even the old World Class Wrestling with guys like The Von Erichs and then the AWA with Nick Bockwinkel and The Vachons.

I went to Wrestlemania last year for the 1st time and i was screaming like I would have been at a wrestling match as a kid

Loved to watch that stuff as a kid... I guess we are talking the mid 70s when Bruno Sanmartino was still the champ but sort of getting to the end of his reign. My friends and I used to have fake wrestling matches and pretend we were all those guys and end with big battle royales! I think I even saw the first Wrestlemania at a local theater on closed circuit.

Loved to watch it as a kid in the '80s. Admittedly, I got back into it during the whole WCW/NWO thing when Hogan took the bad guy role and when Stone Cold was wreaking havoc on WWE.

Tony Atlas, Roddy Piper, and The Ultimate Warrior were my favorites. Tonight from The Omni! It was fun, but I never took it seriously.

I watched it way back when I was a kid, when guys like Bobo Brazil, Chief Jay Strongbow, Haystacks Calhoun, Killer Kowalski and Bruno Sammartino were on. I don't really tune in much to WWE these days.

Was completely obsessed with it from 1999-2004. I mean, I never missed an episode of Raw or Smackdown & I watched every PPV.

Fell out of it for a few years & recently started watching again. Went to the Royal Rumble last month because it was in Boston.

I used to fly the WWF guys around in the early '90s. One weekend I had Hulk Hogan in the plane for a schedule that included Indianapolis on Friday, New York Saturday afternoon, Boston Saturday night and Philadelphia Sunday night.

He wrenched his back on Friday and was so hurting that he couldn't carry his large gym bag in the airplane while bending over. He looked like had aged 10 years at the end of the weekend. Those guys go through a lot, choreographed or not.

One of my best buddies actually works on the tour with WWE. I don't follow it anymore. No time. It was fun back in the day though.

Thumbs up

It's sooo horribly fake, campy, and over-the-top ridiculous that I have to love it.

My wife is a hardcore academic (on the verge of finishing her PhD) and she loves it too. I spend all day making guitars and talking with artists. It's nice to get a break from books, art, and anything remotely intelligent and just watch some excessive violence and Telemundo worthy drama.

You need to appreciate the ridiculousness to really enjoy it.

i'll be the 11th or 12th poster to say they do not currently watch "pro wrestling."

I have never, and I mean NEVER, watched that kind of, er, um, "programming."
