Crate DX Half Stack anyone with info?

Hi Everyone,
I've had a Crate DX 100h & DX 412 since new, 99 or 2000, used it live, used it in studio... I've love it. I has been the best amp. I've played numerous modelers/ solid states/ tubes, and never really thought too much of getting rid of it. I even have the original OEM emi's in the 412! I bought a DX212 because I loved the stack so much, and it was a total miss, not the same. I had a sweet line 6 flextone II head with 2 rolling 2x12's, but not impressed with line 6, returned it a couple days later. Played a Johnson Millenium and that was really nice, and the only other that really compared. Anyway, has anyone else had the pleasure of this amp & cab? The cab in a side by side with v30's sounds very much alike. Also, I've been reading that this sucker in stack form was very limited? I have seen pictures of only a couple others and wanted to find some other soul or possible info. Thanks

I had the 2x12 DX.
It was a decent amp but I couldnt get it too sound as good loud as it did in my jam room.
Also mine had a way bad overheating problem as it often smelled like hot or burning wires(but they werent)
I traded it for a Warhead combo.
Honestly I felt it had a couple of decent models but imo it didnt even compare too the later Spider III,Flextone II and III's I had later owned.
One mans junk is another,s treasure. Lolzzz
Ive never really seen many since I had mine.
And honestly those Crate branded speakers are just cheap Emi's and very dull and lifeless when compared too real Celestions and Emi's.
YMMV

Treasure indeed. I a/b'd the 412 with a v30 2x12 earlier today and the emi's sparkled more, but the bass fluffed a bit.... and not in a good way. I was using a Triamp rather than the DX, but, the v30's are on the way out anyway.

I've had a DX100h for goin on 2 years now and I've loved it. I've always been a big fan of crate and this one tops it and even better this one is US made before crate was taken over by china. If you set it up right HS CAN IT BE LOUD!! But yeah like you I've never seen another one for sale let alone barely even any info about it. Just a few reviews and a couple threads that mention it (like this one). I honestly wish I could find the matching cabs though cause all I have is the head and footswitch. The presets you can have on it are so handy. The possible complexity of effects, settings, and level along with my pedal board that I can create and switch around is awesome. When I play gigs there's quite a variety of Rock/Metal styles we play new and old and it allows easy access for me to switch around between them fast. I'm a lead vocalist along with playing rhythm guitar and I think this amp is perfect. Not to mention its different and barely anyone has it, so when it comes time to make our album and say we make it big, people won't be able to copy our sound to the exact so easy. Thats always nice to know.
