Barber 1/2 Gainer - True Bypass?

Ordered a Barber 1/2 Gainer ... I think it's true bypass but just trying to confirm. I was pretty sure I saw that somewhere but I am not finiding it now.

I'm going for a simple pedal layout that is either:
  • Korg Pitch Black > Xotic RC > Barber 1/2 Gainer
  • Korg Pitch Black > Barber 1/2 Gainer
I want it to drive my Richter Supra-Luxe amp which likes a little drive up front but still want a fully true bypass rig so I can run into my Brown Note D'Lite which loves just a cable with no buffer. However, I still want my tuner available. Just swap plugs at the amp.

I believe all Barber pedals are TB. David Barber posts here-send him a PM. He is a great guy and will definitively answer your questions.

Wouldn't happen to know his user name would you? A couple of searches ... still did not find it. But it sounds like it's probably true bypass ... so that's good.

His username here is David B.

As far as I know, Barber pedals, aside for the Launch Pad, are true bypass unless you put in a B Buff in the unit.

Thanks guys ... David B has a note in his signature saying he never answers PMs but it suggested that I go to his site and ask ... done. So looking promising but I might get confirmation from Barber, as well.

Barber guys respond faster via email or in their forum. Tons of great info about their pedals there too!

And congrats on the 1/2 Gainer

Confirmed by Barber, as well ... as true bypass. So ... just waiting for delivery now ... I think it will fit the bill for what I have in mind.

roknfnrol, don't know if you recall but i pm'd you on youtube asking if a timmy & 1/2 gainer would be redundant. you thought so... however, i still ended up with. guess which one stuck around and which one got sold?

Both are great pedals, but the Barber has a bit more versatility which is great live (at least for me )

I agree. I play a mostly clean, single channel amp so a 2-channel overdrive pedal with the versatility of the 1/2 gainer is the clear winner.

Sorry to the OP for sorta high-jacking the thread for a few posts.

As of today I will also have both the timmy and the 1/2 gainer. I had timmy and ltd and thought they worked great together. However something is acting up in the LTD and it gave me an excuse to try the 1/2 gainer. I am open to it kicking timmy off the board, but it would make me a little sad.

My LTD SR kicked my Timmy off the board. I have also owned a 1/2 Gainer two different times, but I found out that my LTD SR w/mod board does all the sounds I like in a slightly smaller package. The 1/2 Gainer is a great pedal though.
