12AY7 in V2 of Victoria Ivy League?

it says on the tube chart you can swap a 12Y7 in place of the 12ax7. wHAT EFFECT DO YOU THINK THIS WILL HAVE?
wIFE AND DAUGHTER ARE HOME, CANT TRY IT OUT NOW. Got cap button mixed up.

Less gain with the AY7.

actually, I looked again, and it doesn't have a 12AY7 listed on the chart for V2. But I'm sure you could. I did put in a set of old Sylvania 6V6's and swapped out the 6AT tube in V1 for the other tube listed on the tube chart (forget what it is) It is a good change for me, little more gain and top end bite.

Considerably more input headroom (For given stage)

the 12AY7 is a voltage device, like an AX7, just with less amplification or MU.

AU7 and AT7s are the the wrong device in a voltage stage.

Those two tubes amplify current well.
