Do you have a pedalboard but no OD or distortion pedal on it?

I have a Timmy on my board but, more often than not, it stays off when I'm gigging. I just like the sound of natural tube amp overdrive better, and am considering selling the Timmy and not replacing it.

Anyone else with me?

Outside of my gate, tuner, wah and loop-switchers, I have nothing BUT dirt boxes. Time based stuff is in my loop on the amp.

My amp is too clean for that to work for me, but I totally get where you're coming from. When I first got a pedalboard, I was stuffing all kinds of OD/Distortion onto it, like I was such a connoisseur that I needed a different lead tone for each song.

At some point, space became a premium because of some other pedals that I was adding (Q Zone, Stereo Memory Man, Chorus) and I realized that I really wasn't compromising my creativity by just using one "dirt" sound whenever I needed it (sometimes a Rat, sometimes a Barber LTD). If I could get a sound like that out of my amp with no pedal, I'd certainly consider that option.

No distortion/overdrive pedals on my pedalboard. Only a dunlop Bad Horsey wah, a rotovibe, a rocktron banshee, a digitech whammy 4, a TC electronic tuner, a Burkey SIX and my rocktron midi mate... I get all gain and crunch I need from my Brunetti Mille preamp.

Yep, gotta Rectoverb. Its got the clean channel when needed and more gain than I want and volume boost for solos or whenever I need a boost. If I want less gain for songs that call for it I roll back my volume on the guitar.

I've downsized my board to:tuner, compressor, two boost and a delay, but these days I'm only using the tuner and going straight into my amp. I really like the freedom from pedals.

8 pedals on my board--------------5 are different flavors of OD/Dirt!!! Opens many new tonal horizons. But, I also like to play using only power tube distortion at times..........

I usually have a boost of some sort on my board but rarely use it. Boss TU2 and a DM2 are the staples. other than that it is all amp. I have a Blues Driver on there now just for the hell of it and it is set to clean boost.

No OD or fuzz. I've never even owned one in 30 years playing.

The closest thing is a clean boost on my board. Others include chorus, delay, reverb, wah, volume pedal and tuner.

Nothing but compression and modulation on my board.

My JSX gets all the distortion I want from both channels.

Yep, my "big board" is my modulation board, no dirt on it. If I want dirt, i'll go to my mini board.

My board doesn't have any Dirt on it yet. I'm on a waiting list for a Tim so that should change soon!

Tu-3, Diamond Comp, Beano Boost (I have it very low just for an additional boost on Delays), Diamond Trem, Ibanez Airplane Flange, Sunny Day Delay, AnalogMan ARDX20, and then an MXR Smart Gate.

I use my Rockerverb 50 distorted channel for my dirt.

Not until I got my Screwdriver. I really dig the OD on my Knucklehead. With boost to go over the top, I didn't really have a need for it until I got this houseband gig.

Guitar-Crybaby-Screwdriver-Amp

loop - TB looper - CE-2 - DM-3 - Mini RRR
