Moog Low Pass Filter creating annoying hiss...

Whenever I play the Moog LPF through the clean channel on my amp, it sounds perfect, but when playing through the lead channel it creates one of the most annoying hisses I've ever heard, even in the off position. It sucks the tone out of the lead channel completely. Any ideas or advice are greatly appreciated...although I'm thinking of just selling it and getting another Micro Q-Tron.
