1/4 inch jack replacement help

The 1/4 inch jack on Blackheart 5 needs to be replaced. It is a PC mounted one. The problem is I am not sure which one to get, there are several different ones. Called Crate, that was 0 help. here are some pics. Thanks for the help.

The good news is that the jack in the photo will still work if you clean it up by heating the solder and removing the solder pads that have ripped off of the pc board.

The bad news is that the solder pads have ripped off of the pc board.

The good news yet is that you can usually trace down the copper traces that lead to each one of those jack pins. If you have enough patience you can make jumpers from your jack pins to wherever each one goes. I have personally done this, it just takes a little time.

That is the jack Ampeg uses on all their amps with chrome-nose input jacks. Just tell Crate you need one for an Ampeg BA115. Tubes and more . com should have as should just about everyone else with amp parts. Notice that you have the offset legs.

It looks like the pads you tore off were topside pads only without traces to them. Verify that's true and next time put more heat on the pins before pulling.

You guys sure those are traces on there? They really look like those fibre isolation/vibration washers to me,

They look to perfectly round to be traces, at least in the photos they do.

Edit,

Just looked at a board, yep them be traces.
Proceed

Run wires anyhow, this is common problem with pcb's in the field. One bump and they are dead. Extra 10-15 minutes can save alot of headache down the road.

I can see the copper from the PTH on one leg - the PCB is whipped alright. I don't see any mechanical connection (ie: nut & washer) so this will be tricky to provide a lasting fix. Glue anyone?

I did not remove the jack, someone else did. I got this for a song because of this. Just trying to figure out where to get one exactly like this. The 3 rings are not traces, the traces on the board are fine. It just needs a new jack.

Is it possible to wire a regular Switchcraft jack in its place? Should be...just run wires to the first solderable connection from where the jack was mounted.

Well I hope you're right, but it looks like some of the pins have the remains of the through plated hole attached to them. I have no idea if amps use multi layer PCBs these days, but if so you may get an intermittent or no contact to an internal layer (possibly a ground plane).

What is wrong with the existing socket? (Other than not being soldered to the board that is).

On many double sided boards, especially inexpensive ones, the top of a through hole pad is very fragile and prone to lifting. So long as the traces to that jack are all on the underside of the board, and they likely are, there's no problem.

Again, this is the most standard part in the modern Crate-Ampeg bin. Anyone with parts will have them.
