favorite instructional video's and DVD's.

I am really making an effort in the next 12 months to become a better player. To increase both my rhythm and lead chops, my knowledge of scales, my feel and my physical abilities. I'd like to have some experienced players tell me what books/video's have helped them grow as a player. Let's see if we can make a list for future references.

Thanks!

My favorite is the first Paul Gilbert video. Not because you learn anything, but watching him play, particularly the 3 min opening segment, is hysterical. At least for me. It is so over the top impossible that I can't help but smile.

What do you already know and what do you want to learn? lots of great resources, but it helps to know your ultimate goals. Have you considered lessons of some sort? I have plenty of books and videos, but interacting with a teacher can help a great deal.

yeah I'm in the process of getting a teacher. I made the call yesterday in fact. Right now I just want to improve my chops, learn about differnt chord voicings and scales so things can sound interesting. Genre wise I want to learn stick primarily to rock and country. I'm mostly a blues rock guy now.

Hi Tomo,
I did a search on HL and wound up buying your DVD online from Sheet Music.com

Now what about the Free lesson material?
Did I miss my chance for that?

Thank you so much for ordering my dvd.

Well, when people buy any cds, dvds from me.
I send by priority mail. So I could put more lesson
material for free. That my appreciation for people.

Please e-mail me if you are interested in.
I wish I can send you free material... but it
will cost me $4.00 postage. If I agree to do that,
... HL sold more than 500 copies last month..
I have to be careful to say...

There are some great instructional videos out there. I've been pimpin' Tomo's "Accelerate Your Guitar Playing" recently, it's just a fantastic way to tighten up your chops or build good habits when you play. I never have enough time for this one.

I also like the old Eric Johnson Instructional videos, loads of great things on them. Also, my sleeper pick is the David Grissom Hot Lick duo, I don't know why this doesn't get brought up more.

Tomo's "Accelerate Your Guitar Playing" Got to agree with this one as well. Just picked it up from a recent clinic Tomo was doing. He did amazing stuff live so I bought the DVD. Really good and I'm only into a little so far.

Can't go wrong with this one.

Dane,

Thank you so much! My Accelerate DVD1.. my passion.
I am very happy to hear that you liked it.

Take your time.... you don't have to those in order.
Pick any part of exs.. and add your pace and do it
really slow.

If you could .. record yourself to see how your left
hand, right hand's timing, muting technique, tone
clear? neat sound?

It's not about how much play, HOW you make this
instrument sing or groove.

Have a fun playing with your guitar.

PS, Did anybody see the review on my Accelerate
dvd ... "Guitar One" ???
