Sean Costello - Sean's Blues
This is the first Sean Costello record I've heard and how I wish more contemporary blues recordings are produced this way. It has that raw quality yet you can still hear the instruments clearly unlike most of the current blues/blues-rock stuff now where the production usually sounds too sleek. It's the reason why I prefer live blues albums over studio records(yes, including SRV's)
Most of the songs are brief and concise. In this time of downloadable singles, I'm just so glad I bought the CD as it really is a great introduction to Sean's music. Even the non-bluesy stuff is enjoyable for me. They really are songs and not just background music for guitar wanking. I just found a new guitar and songwriting hero today! Thanks, thanks, thanks a lot TGP!! ![]()

I have all of Sean's CD's except for Call the Cops and they're a true joy for me. As good as they are, it's the live stuff that really gets me. Thankfully a few people have some great videos up on YouTube which is a daily inspiration to me. Yay for Sean's music continuing to be heard and enjoyed!

man, he was amazing, one of the best imho...I keep a few live compilations in my car that I've downloaded over the years...there was a long thread a few years ago that had links to a download site with a Seattle and Germany show that showed Sean's trio in perfect fashion....miss that guy - a lot.
