First New Gibson!!!

So i took the plunge and finally invested in my first Gibson....Its a brand new 2009 Les Paul Studio Faded Cherry. I have heard complaints on quality from Gibson's of late, and i cant agree less, maybe i just got a good one. I tried alot of guitars before settling on this on, including an SG standard and i liked this one even better, plus i got a sweet deal on it. i don't miss My ESP at all and that as a great guitar as well.

Gratz on a great guitar!! I just bought a 2011 and am loving it. I know there have to be some guitars with issues that slip by. That is just the facts of life in a factory but, I am 2 for 2 with brand new Gibsons and they both rock. Oh ya post pics!!

Congrats and enjoy! I've owned dozens of Gibsons, including an LP Studio, and all the internet bashing about poor quality control are nothing like any of my experiences. With the huge volume of guitars Gibson makes a few bad ones will inevitably get out of the factory, but in the scheme of things the bad ones are few and far between.

Congrats! Those guitars are pretty sweet. I avoided them for a long time because I don't care for the look, but I played a few at GC last year, and most of them sounded fantastic. I'd characterize them as sounding more toothy and maybe more resonant than regular Studios I've played. I kind of want one now.

I love mine and the way i look at it, they're are a few that come out bad from the factory and those are the ones that you here from the others are satisfied. And the resonance is amazing, only thing i might do is a Seymour Duncan 59 in the neck and distortion in the bridge, i haven't decided yet.
