20 years ago today we lost Leo

The landscape would be very different, had it not been for that man.

I agree, the whole musical landscape would be very different without Leo.

My life would be different, as a '64 Stratocaster was my first guitar, and Strat player Jimi Hendrix was my first influence.

I met Leo's 2nd wife, Phyllis, at the NAMM Show some years back. She was a very sweet woman, and I met her along with George Fullerton (R.I.P.), who was also a very nice guy. I asked George if he had a lot
of Fender guitars and amps at home, and he said "a few".

Thank you Leo. You were a pioneer that created absolutely wonderful guitars; works of art that made the world a better place.

14 years ago it was the sound of a strat that made me want to play the guitar, and it's a big reason I'm still playing. Thanks Leo!

Its amazing how Leo has affected my life.

My first good guitar was a '59 strat, I've lusted after Fenders my whole life, my favorite guitar is my '65 strat, most of my favorite artists and tones are all Leo's creations, it goes on and on.

Thinking of Leo...it's amazing what he was able to accomplish without being a player himself. Also, being in the game for 40+ years, I followed, and purchased, many of his "improvements" through his Music Man & G&L days...but I think he really got it right from the get-go with the Telecaster, Stratocaster, Jazzmaster, & Jaguar and I always drifted back to those basic models. Music Man & G&L made/makes some great stuff...but how can you improve the Mona Lisa's of guitars? Same with his tweed & blackface amps...its amazing how they tonally still hold up today. Thanks for the lifetime addiction Leo .
