Klon Setting for WH Pork Loin
For people who have done a side-by-side comparison and found that the PL can be made to sound similar, what settings did you use to get a Pork Loin to sound close to a Klon?

When I bought my pork loin, I gave the guy at guitar center an extra $300...that made it more klon like RIGHT from the get go
 I think the clean mini-pot is the key...ive heard the klon/pork loin comparisson and adding the right amount of clean signal is what gets it close...

I've never been able to get it THAT close, ballpark maybe. Honestly there are a lot of settings in the Pork Loin and I find that I set it all over the place depending on the amp/guitar I'm using even when trying to get it to sound Klonish. I'd be hard pressed to offer general settings to achieve what you are looking for.
Sorry to be Debbie Downer, I've just never found anything that does what the Klon does.

Looking to revive this thread for this question: have you gotten the pork loin to do a klonish job as a boost, or as an OD? I'm interested in a klone of some sort, had a klon a while back and loved it as a clean boost, not as an OD though. And I've got a pork loin sitting around.

G'Day,
I have a WH Pork Loin and I have a Close Friend who has a Gold Klon Centaur and we have done the Side by side test.....We were unable to get them to match sonically.... We have also tested alongside of the Klon; Fulltone Full Drive Mosfet Zen Drive 2 Maxon OD 808 and so far NOTHING has sounded exactly like the KLON.... You can get within the General area BUT that's about it.... I've had some luck with the OD808 > ZenDrive 2...That gets close it actually sounds really good, with the pushed mids and ZD2 clarity but it still doesn't match the the KLON's sonic signiture. I'm buying one when they're available. It's a must have. I have tried the Gaspedals Carb Ver 2 and it's is an outstanding OD pedal... Cheers Last edited by aussiemeats; 07-18-2011 at 11:19 AM.

here's how i run it for an, imo, better than a klon boost:
vol full up, drive off or to taste, tone all the way to the left, small knobs set at noon, internal knobs set to taste (i think i have the preamp internal knob set all the way to the left or right, but i can't remember which. the other knob depends on your setup). really adds a nice glow and weight to the tone.
