Cel. Lead 80 vs. WGS British Lead?

i've searched tgp for info on these already, but there's not many details. anyone have experience w/ both speaker? if not exp. w/ both, what was your impression of the one you do have exp. w/?

They both have a neutral character. Very even sound, even to the point of being bland when compared to a Greenback. They work good if you don't want a speaker that colors your tone that much.

I have a quad of WGS British Leads in a 4-12 and use them with a high gain Marshall type sound. Only concern was that it took a long time to break them in. The speaker was too stiff sounding new, but now that it has over 40 hours of high volume playing, I really like them.

To my ear, the Celestions have fuller bass and more sparkle in the highs, but as
LesPaulMan said, they're both very neutral.

+1 The WGS CL80 was a real let down for me. Flat sounding high end,papery mids. Part of it I attributed to the paper dust cap that WGS uses on these. The Celestions have a screen type dust cap. Bob
